Arrow Steering Recall

Recall Campaign 2008120011 JAN09 a defect from a manufacturing process flaw at the supplier may exist in the driving pin used ton control the oil pressure of the power steering. If the pin breaks during turning, hydraulic support will no longer function and steering wheel operation will be limited. Dealer will replace power steering rack. Approximately 577 vehicles are involved.

Wow. I'm sure by now the engineers at Mercedes AG are having a fit about the quality of the USA parts suppliers. Airmatic pumps, door handles, steering pump pins etc.

Hope we don't loose the Vance assembly plant because of these issues.

Are you certain the these items are made by US vendors in the US?? Doubt if they would discontinue a plant due to some relatively minor vendor discrepancies. Perhaps they will change vendors.
