Audible signal when locking doors?

Hey guys, I just picked up a 2009 ML350 for my wife, I was wondering if there is an audible signal(beep) when locking the doors via remote, or when the alarm is armed? I have that feature on MY2008 C63 AMG and love it, it just lets me know that the car is indeed locked, not sure if there is a menu screen for this or simply it didnt come with it. Thanks for the help.

Sorry to bear bad news... It's #2. Mercedes figured that they needed to cut expenses so they didn't include an audible alarm in our $50,000 SUVs. But, hey I don't need it. I just make my partner walk back to the truck to make sure I locked it. LOL!

I think it can be enabled and disabled at the dealership.

Really, I placed a call to my dealer and he said that he would look into it, apparently, it might be something i can purchase.

You shouldn't be fooled into purchasing anything. It's a simple plug in of their SDS computer to your car and activating it.

2006 ML350

Hi 1st amg - were you able to get the audible signal turned on if you will by your local dealership? That is something that I definitely would be interested in having done. I wonder if it would be different for a US spec car rather than a Canadian spec car. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks everyone.

IMHO the car horn is a bit socially obtrusive and maybe even classles.

Its not a horn that honks, this is a high pitched beep that beeps twice when you lock it and beeps once when you unlock, very unobtrusive and polite.

I have it on my C63 AMG and have loved it from the go.

Please let me know if they do it to your ML, my 09 as did my 06 only flashed the lights 3 times for locking and 1 time for unlocking. My salesman said the audible tone is not offered on the ML

I have mine set it to fold the mirrors when I lock it. That's almost as good as an audible alarm and more socially acceptable at night.

Mine as well has the fold in mirrors when locked, but I guess, old habits die hard in my case.

We got the same answer today at the dealer that it is not something that can be turned off and on, it just does not exist on the 09 ML350. Pretty surprising as every car we have ever had has had some sort of audible confirmation that you have locked the car and armed the alarm.

Please let me know if you do get it turned on, and if so, how (details on how would be great so I can teach my dealer)

Bad news guys, the MB service manager said that they cant program the audible signal when you lock and unlock as in my C63, this is dissappointing, though this is the only thing so far in almost two months of ownership that disappoints, so not so bad.
