Opinion on Second SUV

My old daily driver van is probably going to crap out sooner or later. Since there are tons of discounts/rebates going on I thought on getting something new. Since my ML is for special ocassions, day offs, etc. Budget is in the 15-20K Canadian range.
Specs I'm looking for 1st:
-V6
-Sunroof
-AWD
-FWD
Second:
-4cyl
-FWD
-AWD
-Sunroof

Pretty much a basic SUV because I got all the options on my ML. So far Im looking into a Dodge Nitro but I wish it came standard with FWD rather than RWD. Any opinions greatly appreciated.

There are alot of smaller SUV's, I am not sure how small or compact you want to go as you are coming from a van, but, Hyundai Tuscon, Ford Escape, the honda and toyota are not in your price range, there is also the GMC products, envoy and another I just cant remember the name, or if you want a van, check out the new Dodge/Chrysler minivan, a friend of mine just picked one up for his wife for around $20K here in Ottawa.

Hyundai

I recently drove a Hyundai Santa Fe. Although a little over your price range, they pretty much drop the price a few thousand if you walk in the door. If cargo space isn't an issue, the Tuscon may work.

You should be able to pick up a good used low-mileage RAV4 or CRV for that price. My son had a RAV4 until his family size outgrew it and he loved it. He's a car nut like his dad -- his main driver is a Mazdaspeed 6.

Who buys a Hyundai hahahaha.

Only things I found right now are the that interest me the Dodge Nitro and Jeep Patriot. The Escape is not bad they are in my price range another family member of mine has one so I don't want to copy them. I never again get a van because I have no need for 7 seats plus they are long etc. Basically I just need a basic SUV for daily driving to work etc. Cause probably the only option I would possibly get would be a Sunroof. From GM the only ones on sale are an Equinox (Re-Desgined next year) and the Pontiac Torrent. Japanese Automakers are totally out cause your looking at an easy 25K+. So most likely choices would be from North American Automakers.

There tons of choices If I was to look for a car. But I hate cars because most have no room and are pretty low. SUV FTW!

Who buys hyundai/kia? apprently alot of people buy 'em. They're not in top 5 for no reason. My dad owned a 2001 hyundai and now 08 Kia Sorento. He got it for $16K after rebates and discounts. It's not stripped base version, it's actually nicely equipped LX model. Good luck trying to get even base model Rav4 for that price. They'll be more reliable than avg benz and believe it or not they're safe vehicles too.

Why not consider a second ML...go back to the 163 and for 15-20k you can get a decent 02-03 320 or500. Check the MB canada websitte in the used inventory section and get an idea of dealer prices, then check the auto trader . I gave my 2002 ML320 to my sister when I bought my 08 320cdi and it is still like new. As with any used vehicle,, some due diligence is in order but if you buy from a dealer you can likely get a warranty as well.

There will be well over 50 000km's on them and I would rather get an 08+.

IMO I see a Chrysler product more than a Hyundai. I dont need no Korean piece of crap. Just like saying an Audiovox t.v will compare to a LG.

The Cherokee? If so base starting price for it is about 27K+ after rebates not within my budget. With that kind of price tho I would go something Japanese.

Why would a not buy a Hyundai? They are known for lots of problem. I dont care what awards they gotten because all that is bogus IMO. Look at the Genesis Coupe I rather dish out almost the same money and get the Pontiac G8, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger etc. And for the full topped out Genesis Coupe I would rather get the new 370Z, G35 Coupe, etc. And with the Sedan Genesis any Bmw or Mercedes on that.

You obviously never took the time to read the original post or the second one. I said I'm not interested in an Hyundai and with a Escape I did not want to copy a family member (Personal thing) but thanx for that suggestion. And the rest you stated are 4 cylinder.
