Hi guys

I am from UK and have a ML 420CDI...with HK sound, NTG2 Command APS and Rev camera.

Since having the ML...I have installed the Brabus D8 III kit...well worth the money

and last week I installed the Dension GW500....I was able to do with this with the great writeup from Skylaw....thanks Skylaw!

I routed the ipod connector and USB connector to the glove compartment for the moment....Ideally I want to put them in the middle under the arm rest.

I have tried to take off the centre console / arm rest with out any success....so does anyone here kindly show / instruct me in how to take apart the centre console?

thanks in advance

Jan

Hi Jan,
This is what I saw on MB Star Service DVD:
1/Remove ashtray housing from front center console in order to take out the front beverage holder, by removing hex-head screws at the 2 sides of the ashtray.
2/Remove front beverage holder:
-Remove the vertical plate of the beverage holder from inside the storage bin (take out the felt-lined basket) and insert a flat tip small screwdriver into 2 slots to unlock the clips and raise the plate.
-Remove 2 screws behind that vertical plate.
-Slide the bev holder toward front and raise it.
-Disconnect electrical illumination connectors.
3/Move front seats completely toward rear.
4/Raise armrest cover upright.
5/Unclip 2 bolt caps in the bottom of the storage bin.
6/Remove 2 bolts there.
7/Remove 2 more bolts and unclip another clip inside the bin housing.
9/Disconnect 3/or 4 electrical connectors.
10/Voilą ! Pull the center console toward rear, lift and remove the whole thing through front door.
Hope this helps.
