ML350 engine dies in the middle of the road...
I was driving my ML350 this noon (approx 30mph) when the car in front suddenly made a full stop, so when i pressed on the brakes, the ML's engine died, and it wont restart!!!! i was stuck in the middle of the road, towed it on the curb, filled it with gas (tank was 1/4 full) waited an hour, and until now it wont start....
any ideas??? the engine turns, the battery is strong, it just wont start, and im sure the fuel pump is good since i can hear it running, and its fuses are good. i also have no error messages in the cluster. i dont think the engine is flooded with gas either since its been almost 8 hours since the car died.
the only dealer here in the Philippines is far from my city, i have to spend for the technician's airfare and hotel...so any help would be appreciated.

Without knowing more, I would guess dirty/clogged fuel filter, or really poor quality fuel. Also possible to be the crank position sensor. There was a recall on them a while back.
For a no start condition, there should be a error message. The computers in vehicles these monitor almost everything.

im running on Shell V-Power, so fuel quality wont be an issue, the car was running fine before it stalled.
my warranty manuals are mb usa, my car was imported new from san jose california, thus, i only enjoyed mb 1 year international warranty. besides, my car is 2.5years old. MB Philippines only has a 2 year warranty![Frown](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
im suspecting the crankshaft position sensor too, upon a call to the mb dealer here, i was told the symptoms are for the cps. anybody know where it is located?
the last expensive option is for me to have a techinician fly in with the star computer and fix my car.

got my car fixed by mb, changed fuel pump ($350) crankshaft sensor ($65) labor ($280), they were wondering though why the fuel pump and the crankshaft sensor went bust at the same time. this happened at 10,000 miles.

Good to hear you are up and running. Seems unlikely that both components failed at the same time. My take is that they either threw parts at it until it ran or they were being proactive due to your location and changed both items. Cost seemed reasonable. Did they fly a mechanic in or did you have the car towed to them??
