Ordered a 2010 ML550
Got that done on Friday. As usual with MB it was difficult to get just what you want without buying a bunch of stuff that you don't want. A couple of things that I discovered during the process that may be interesting to some...
With the entire series one cannot purchase the HK sound system without also taking Keyless go or vice versa, Airmatic is std on the ML450 and the AMG ML63. When ordering it on the 550 I found that the adaptive damping is required as a separate item and that generates a special order charge. There are 2 new colors, Steel Gray and palladium silver. Several past colors have been discontinued.
Also on the CDI run flat tires are still standard with no spare but on the new ML450 regular tires are provided WITH NO SPARE!! Seems that a 110V AC outlet is provided on all so it must have an inverter. Pricing is not yet available for the vehicle and many options.
Would be nice if all options were ala carte.
This will be my 4th ML. Mid Sept delivery

From 2006 ML 320 CDI - from 2009 Audi Q5 S-Line 3.0 TDI DSG - from 2011 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE
I went for a step "down"!
My ML 320 CDI is already for sale and I am ordering the new AUDI Q5 S-Line 3.0 TDI, a bit smaller, but much performant (240 hp, writes 280 km/h at the instrument cluster - allowing 225 km/h in its manual book (ML hardly reached 230 km/h writing 260 on the instrument cluster so the Audi certainly can reach more and easier which afterall means a better and smoth ride in the usuall 120-160 km/h that we drive daily), lower, 1.8 ton instead of 2.2 of the ML, city friendly, Euro 5 for the environment.......I hope better in all terms like fuel economy (I travel a lot more then average), response, and newer technologies.....
Good Luck!

additional info
I have also learned that on the 2010 ML550 running boards are standard. The pass side parking assist tilt down mirror is also back if the P1 or P2 group is ordered. I am pleased about the mirror but do not think I will care for the running boards and I believe they can be removed which after experiencing them I may do. Back up camera is also standard.

More than likely he wont wont know exactly until he recieves the vehicle. I will note the VIN when they come through and if its the same then it will be too late lol.

Hmmm, kind of hard to do since MBUSI is one of the most effecient plants in the Mercedes line up and considering the cutbacks(that all manufacturers have had to do) of manpower and build counts.

No doubt, thats why we have continuous improvement teams(C.I. Teams) come through each year with new members for a fresh perspective on each line and station. Most new models hit the lot in September from most manufacturers so I actually was surprised when he said when it was coming in when I read the first post.

I can, I work in plant II(which builds the M and R class). Plant I builds the GL and M class.
Most of the M's are built in plant II and all of the R's, all of the GL's are built in plant I with some M's mixed in.
IMO, yours will probably be built no later than Sept 2nd.
