Gap Cap Holder

I bought a CPO ML 350 and it seems like there is no where to put the gas cap on this thing while filling? Maybe I'm missing a piece? Do youg guys just let it hang?

My 09 gas cap rests in the fuel door vertically. The rim of the cap clips to fuel door to the right of the hinge. So the top of the cap is facing the sky. Previous MB's cliped onto the door with the top of the cap pointing at me.
