Exclamation False Parking Lamp Warning

Hi all,
Occasionally when I start up the car, I'll get a "Left Front Parking Lamp" warning on the dash display, however, when I go outside and check the said light, it seems to be working fine. But there are also times when the lamp has actually gone out, but just switching the ignition off and then back on seems to fix it (though the warning still stays there).

This appears to be a completely random occurrence, I can't tell exactly when or why it is happening. I do know that MB is known for electrical problems...what could be going on here?

Thanks in advance.

Take it in for warranty. There is actually a repair kit for the tail lights. Just ask your service advisor.

Thanks gsrjc,
Does this repair kit work for the front parking lamps too? And what could be causing the random appearance of the bulb out warning, even though the bulb is lit and working perfectly fine?

Thanks again.

I never had any problems with the front parking lamps on my old ML. The issue was condensation with the rear circuitry for the bulbs.

I have the exact same issue with my '08 ML320cdi. Seems to go away for a while, then randomly reappears.

I had a blown LEFT main beam globe once and the dash warning said it was the RIGHT one.

Go figure.

I had the same problem. Went for service for an unrelated issue, and mentioned that my front parking light was sometimes on/off. SR told me MB was having alot of problems related to this, and they repaired it under warranty. Bring it in when you have extra time, and MB will make the repair.

I had that issue also, but sometimes the lamp was actually out. I would tap on the housing and it would relight. Went to a parts store, bought the replacement bulb, and now all is well.

Thanks all,
I will take it in sometime in the future and see if the service department can fix the problem. Does anyone know what exactly causes this?

Thanks.
