08 Nav Looses all memory?

08 Nav Looses all memory?
I have an 08 ML, every few days the Nav looses all previous destinations and all memory stored locations, acts as if nothing was ever entered and the car is brand new. Hate to have the dealer screw with it, if they swap out the nav I am sure there will be rattles, squeaks and creaks. Anyone have this problem and what wa done.

Try that step, and then decided whether or not you need to have the whole system replaced.
Even if they have to replace the head unit, I don't think you are going to have any additional rattles resulting from that work - fundamental attribution error.

You has stated in your original post that the car was "brand new". Even if they must replace the head unit its no big deal. I had one replaced on the E class that I recently traded for a 2010 and it was done while I waited in about 20 minutes. The car was a couple of weeks old at the time and the unit failed completely. In fact that was the only issue I had with the car in the 5 years I had it.

Mine loss memory once or twice within the first year. Then never did again. Sucks to have to reprogram all over again. Dealer found no issues back then. I am not the only one, they were several threads on this problem. It usually clears up by itself, and I have never heard of a dealer fix.

This has happened to me multiple times. I took it to the dealership and they couldn't find anything wrong. I work in sales, so this was a major inconvenience for me.
