AUX input question - newbie!
hi to all
i just can't find my car manual, where i supposedly should have the answers...
i have the 2009 320CDi - in my glove compartment i have an Audio input, rectangular (not circular 3,5mm jack)
i have the audio 20+cd changer.
is this aux for ipods on;y?
can i directly connect na ipod and control my music from the steering wheel?
is there any adapter cable that will allow me to connect another audio device to my ML?
thanks

Hi,
The square connector requires a cable set from MB. You can then connect any IPod (or other device directly to comand). You can then control all the normal IPod functions directly from Comand and control tracks with the steering wheel buttons when in the Audio menu.
I'll dig out the MB part number later (it's in the glovebox of the car!). The cable set also contains cables for 3.5mm jacks as well in case you use another type of player but I guess the IPod connection is the one you'll want. From memory, the cable set was around 40GBP from MB. (60USD?)
Cheers,
Ruaraidh

I would be interesting to know if the new audio system + iPod sounds any better than the old system, which, unless you just wanted some additional road noise, was not even worth messing with.

The sound quaility is as good as the quality you ripped the tracks onto your IPod with. No complaints here. I never use the CD/DVD player in Comand, just the IPod....
