Trying to install 2010 LED tail lamps on my 07 ML

I'm trying to install these new LED tail lamps from a 2010 on my 07 ML but they don't seem to work, I found a website that sells these resistors for LED tail lamps that slow down the bliking of the LED lights but I was told that I need to recode the rear SAM. Obviously I'd rather buy the resistors but would it work and where would they go? Anyone?

won't work. sell em to me.

seriously though... for the resistors you splice into the harness and add them in line. and you need to put them somewhere safe because they get HOT. this is because they create extra load, which gets dissipated as heat, in order to simulate a regular bulb, which draws a lot more current than LEDs -- which is why the SAM doesn't like it when LEDS are plugged in. given that LEDs were not even an option for 07, i don't think it'll be just a matter of recoding the SAM module. likely need a new one, if that will even work. i think resistors are probably your only option.

not kidding though, if you really want to get rid of em, let me know
