DRL LED (Daytime Running lights)
Anyone got some installed? Would love to see pics.
Been poking around and it seems besides an entirely new front bumper from Brabus, Carlsson has some, but the first price I got was 590 Euro.
Or you could go truly custom...but risk botching the job
Are there any other options? Anyone had any success? I'm looking for something that looks clean and professional. We have the Lighting package with the Xenon lights.

I am looking for a factory look DRL solution as well.
I got some prices on the DRL from a current model E63 (which are horizontal)
and also from a current E500 which are 'curved' but both were fairly expensive
If anyone has ideas please post here, especially with part numbers

I recently installed the Carlsson units and am very pleased. The brabus option is just an apron which attachs to the current bumper. I ordered one but when it finally arrived at my dealer, we both were not happy with the fitment so I went with the Carlsson. If you have any questions about them fell free to ask. All in including painting and fitting they cost me £695

the housing comes un painted. You can colour code it if you like or matt black, I had mine painted gloss black to match the AMG grille, painted by MB bodyshop. Oh and you have to trim the bumper for these to fit as well but you get a template to follow in the instructions.

No need to visit the dealer and no errors. They operate just like the new OEM units, ie. they dim slightly when the main lights are switched on. I parked next to a new E and the brightness levels are identical.

Now that you have had you Carlsson Daytime Running Lights, any problems? Would you do it again?
Question:
Did you have the xenon light package with cornering fog lights? If so, do the Carlsson fog lights turn on during a turn?

Fitted Carlsson DRL's to my W164 today. Am very happy with the installation. The dimming feature works well when the Xenon's come on, and the cornering fog lights also still operate as before.
I had the Phillips 8 DRL's before which I fitted on my C Class Merc, and these are just as bright, if not brighter than them, so I'm a happy chappy
