how do i remove the headlight switch?

 

I would like to know how to do this as well. I think it would be easier to clean off the sticky goo from the plastic with the switch assembly out of the car.

Anyone have instructions for removing the headlight switch?

Hi Major, and Happy New Year!
I followed the steps to the dot on my 2008 ML350, but I could only get the left side budge for about 1/4", but the right side, or half the plate to right, won't budge at all, no matter how much force I put on the panel removers. I even removed the 3 screws at the bottom of the instrument panel 3 as named on the R&I picture, but the panel won't lift at all with the side panel and the 2 screws all removed.
Would you provide your guidance please. Thanks.

 

Follow the below-mentioned guides to remove the headlight switch
Before removing the switch turn it off to prevent any spark
Locate two tabs at the button side of the switch
Then turn the switch to retract the clips
Then pull the switch in outward direction and remove it.

 

Thanks for your response. But, there are only 2 tabs on the left side. Please refer to this link to see some pictures of the same part number I found on ebay. Also the R&I for the part.
