2010 ML 450 Hybrid Oil change
I just had my wife oil changed on her acura at a local lube place. I saw a guy there with a s63 amg getting an oil change. I was surprised. He said it cost him half the money and he has not had any problems.
I have a 2010 ML 450 with 9k miles. Can I change the oil at one of those places, or does the hybrid need special service?

First, I would NEVER entrust an AMG engine to those places.
Second, an oil change is the same whether it's a 350 or 450.
If you don't want to pay dealer prices, it would be much wiser to DIY.
Oh, forgot...there are other maintenance items that need to be done besides oil change. I'm sure some of these are unique to the Hybrid.

If you have a good relation with a dealer you would be amazed their prices have been coming on down and if you just want a oil change i think at my dealer they run a 99 special.
And i think the cheapest oil change ive seen at a jiffy lube was around 80 and if its cheaper than that there not using synthetic oil or the proper filter... 10q mobil 1 and a mb oil filter almost cost 75$.... Trust your car to whom ever you want but i think its kind of crazy.
You should also check the lease deal on that ml hybrid i think they require factory maint.
there are special requirements on that lease.. because they cant be bought all of them need to go back to benz at the end of lease.. Also you have go near the power control unit on top of the engine when you service the new hybrids which is very dangerous if you dont know what you doing.. but its up to you in the end.
I just dont think its worth it to save a couple of bucks
Tell that guy with the 63 that his motor is about 60,000 to replace and also there are 2 drains points which im sure they didnt drain both.
