PTS sensor replacement hints?

PTS sensor replacement hints?
Seems I have one of the rear parktronic sensors out of order on my 06 ML.
6 months ago I had one of the rear lefts changed and according to the service guy you don´t have to take out the bumper or anything and don´t have to go through STAR or similair afterwards either. More he didn´t say (wanna say
)
Which means I could maybe do it myself in case several of these sensors start to fail.
Anybody done it? Any hints? How is the old one taken out?
