Question Break by cruise control.
Does anyone know if the tail braking lights light up if you brake by decreasing speed using the cruise control?

They do only when your foot hits the brake pedal, which will release the cruise control. Decreasing the speed using the cruise control stem (pull down ?) will not activate the brake lights.

Using cruise control to slow down the vehicle will in fact activate the brake lights.

From the owners manual:

When you use the cruise control lever to decelerate, the brake system will automatically brake the vehicle if the engine’s braking power does not brake the vehicle sufficiently.
The cruise control brakes automatically so that the set speed is not exceeded. The brake pedal depresses when the cruise con- trol engages the brakes.
Anytime the brake pedal is depressed will cause the lights to activate.
