Help Needed - Dashboard shutsdown
Hi pros.
I'm having an issue with my car that mercedes benz dealer didn't manage to fix. they said the cause is the car battery and change the battery but still the issue exists
The issue is that the whole car interior including the dashboard and excluding the command unit shuts down only after i start the car and then starts again. when it starts again the clock starts moving clock wise then it goes back to the correct time.
I've sent the car to the dealer and they said i have to leave it to test the battery , alternator and if there are any elec. leaks. after 4 days they informed me that nothing is wrong with the car and only the battery needs to be changed, did that and paid 400$ for the battery and labor but still the issue is still there.
I need your professional help. and thanks in advance
P.S my car is Ml350, 2008 imported from USA and currently living in Dubai
Regards,
Mohammed

This does not sound like a battery issue to me. It does appear to be some sort of an electronic malfunction. If they used the STAR system to diagnose it it should show the fault that is causing it, most likely one of the components in the system.
I'm not sure of they did use the sTAR or not but my wild guess will be that they did otherwise they would be so stupid not to!!!!
