How to tell if my wheels have sensors?

2006 ML350 17s, tires need to be replaced so I have been looking into 18-19 factory wheel/tire packages and not sure about the sensor issue. If they dont have sensors what do I need to do and if they have sensors then what do I do? I read that 2006 uses abs sensors so what if the wheels I buy have sensors in the stems?

ML320CDI 2008 all options inc air suspension
If your system gives tire pressures, and has metal valve stems, you have the monitoring system. No metal stems means tire pressure is done via wheel speed by the computer if a tire is low. You will likely need to pop a few hundred for a new set of sensors if you have metal stems

Thanks, now I know that I have rubber stems= no sensors but what if the wheels I want have sensors and runflat tires off a 2011 350 bluetec? Do I have to remove them or can I just drive with the sensors?

New wheels dont come with valve stems, just have the tire shop install regular rubber stems when they install your tires.

Your 06 does not have valve stem sensors. You will have a normal tire change without taking any special actions.

You can leave them on. They won't do any harm.
