2008 ML350 4Matic
Suspension question
In October I bought a 2008 ML350 4Matic with almost 50K miles. It seemed to me that the suspension was a bit sloppy because of the amount of "rocking", left to right mostly but front to back also, which I felt on country roads. I took it to the dealer to get all the outstanding maintenance work done and asked them to check the suspension and the tech said he did notice the ride quality wasn't what it should be. I was shocked by the quote I got for shocks/struts all the way around. I got another quote from a import specialty place and it was still $1,700. I don't have air suspension and I'm guessing there's maybe $800 or $900 in parts ( probably less for Bilstien w/out mark up by dealer or service center ).
My question is how much can I expect to spend on a full set of Bilstien HD shocks and how difficult would it be to do the job myself? I've replaced shocks and struts on other vehicles but I can't find a DIY for this ML. Does anyone have info on this?

Before you consider aftermarket, check out this site for wholesale OEM.I assume you have your estimate with a parts list, so that will make it easy to compare prices.
