Hi all

I'm exporting an 2008 ML550 to Canada and I called a Washington MB dealer to see what he would charge for activating the DRL and switching to KM's/Hr on the speedo.

The SA stated that the changes can be done through the steering wheel. Is this correct? I thought it needed to be plugged in and reprogrammed..

I don't believe you can turn on DRLs yourself.

You can use the steering wheel controls to show digital speed in km/h but I believe you can only change the analog speedometer that way if you have a Canadian model ML. Legally you don't need to change it if the markings are also shown in km/h.

The DRL's can be changed in the settings through the steering wheel as well, but the engine has to be off.

Yup, changed the DRL and the digital speedo to KMS myself.

Right. I forgot. It is just Canadian vehicles in which you can't change the DRLs as they must come on automatically by law.
