ML 320 CDI
My big questions for those that own one:
- Where are they made, Germany or US ?
I really don't feel good about US made cars, can you tell me your thoughts.
- Is the ML a reliable vehicle?
- Is the ML a smooth ride?
Thanks
What's wrong with US made cars? I have owned several domestics. They have been great.
My ML has been just fine. As with all automakers, there are glitches common to them, but warranty and manufacturing improvements have fixed these so far. Try searching around the forums to see common complaints.
Obviously my best "like" is the 31MPG that it will give on the highway. Also the power, smoothness and engineering. (Features, design and construction.)
All I can say is good luck trying to find one. With the price of fuel, most people would probably opt to keep theirs.
I have a 2006 E320 CDI that is amazing and really enjoy it, fuel economy included...
Anything else you can provide on what to get in the ML CDI, what to look for, etc. would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.
Sat radio is used daily, and Nav is a real plus, even though I have not updated since new. Also, no matter how cold it is, in 4 minutes there is full heat. Steering wheel and seat heat is also nice touch. If you get one with the trailer hitch, make sure the recall was done.
If I had to complain, my biggest issue would be the fact that my headlamp washers freeze up and do not spray in winter, and I have to mix a special brew enhanced with rubbing alcohol to minimize this. Also Parktronic and snow does not play well with each other.
As you can see, my issues are mostly with winter use, and the newer ones (09+?) have heated washers and so on.
I have seen some of these advertised with leather, when it actually has MB Tex. Easy way to tell is to look at the wood trim. If it is really dark wood, then it's leather. Light wood = MB Tex. Also factory Xenon light always have headlight washers.
Remember to check that it is 4Matic. (Look for CV axles in the front wheels.) There was a small percentage that was made rear wheal drive only.
Good luck with the hunt.
