Running Boards Install as per MB

here is what MB uses as their guide for installation, plus the parts list as well

hope this helps

the pics are a bit dark, as it is a scan of a fax sent to me, but this in combination of the one DIY posted already it should assist further in getting these things installed.

I want to go the other way and remove running boards on my moms ML350. I was quoted $1200 which seems excessive to me.

go in reverse order to remove.....but you will still need parts after the removal, the skirting in particular, different jack mounts as well

If you were closer, I could have sold you all the parts, from when I installed the boards to my ML...

@ NevadaNick, I just installed OEM running boards on my ML350 and have the OEM plastic skirts in as near as new condition as you'll find. I'm willing to ship and take whatever pics you'd like before sale.

The cheapest I see on eBay is a bit over $450 with shipping for the pair. I'll sell mine for $400 including shipping to members here. Be aware that there are actually 6 pieces to the factory side skirts. The main skirts, and 4 support pieces. There is also the associated hardware. I'll include whatever came off the OEM.

As GateKeeper said, removing the running boards will leave the exposed rocker panels so the plastic skirts are a necessity. Whichever way you go, just remember that you'll need all SIX pieces for a complete install, just the plastic shells wont do.

What year ? This one is a 2011. It sounds fair as dealer has parts listed as six pieces and $790 for parts. Any idea what i could get for the running boards ?

OEM running boards (not side skirts) are going for around $650 ($700w/s&h) on eBay. The side skirts I removed to install running boards are from a 2008 but my dealer said they are they same as on the 2011.

It seems like from your original post that you are in need of the OEM side skirts since you'd like to remove the OEM running boards.
