Removing rearview mirror
Anybody have experience in removing the review mirror?
I'm looking for a DIY post.
I'm having a tint banner installed on the front windshield and the installer asked if I could help him find instructions on its removal.
Did a search, but couldn't find anything thus far.
I know that I need to watch out for rain and light sensors.
Cheers and TIA.

And if you do remove it, you will still need to cut out a portion, so it's just glass, so you can stick back on the mounting nib for the mirror, as I am sure it will not stick to the film
just cut around the mounting and there really should be no need for removal of the mirror, unless you are not going to be putting it back on....
this is just my opinion....

Mirror itself just slides up a channel thats on the windshield. Pull the mirror covers off(the plastic pieces that surround the mirrors base, the part thats infront of the mirror just pops out forward and the piece thats between the mirror base and the headliner/overhead console comes straight down. Disconnect the wiring to the mirror and slide it forward and thats how it comes off.

Hello
I have 1996 E320 , The interior rear view mirror is NOT repairable. ( took it a part and all the plastic taps are damaged ).
My question is, if I replace it with another used one,, does the new one has to be reprogrammed to match the remote fob frequency or it will work fine without farther mating?
Can some one help me please??????
Thank you all
