Honda Accord EX and Waiting for ML350 :)
Smile Should I buy 2009 ML350 with Running Boards for $35,000

I am planning to get a slightly used MB ML350 for my wife. We have never had a Benz before. We had few acuras which were very good and reliable.

I saw a 2009 ML350 at a local private (not MB) dealer with 21K miles in Brand New condition for $35K. This ML is White over black leather and has P2 + Running board + adjustable paddle etc. I think it is good deal as similar cars at MB dealer are around $39K. Ouch!

Q1. Is there any harm in buying the MB from private dealer?
Q2. How is this model in terms of reliability and performance? Reliability is more impt. to us.
Q3. Since we are buying a slightly used one, how much is the average the cost to maintain this car? Is it very expensive to maintain this car?
Q4. Is it a good price for this car?

Take it to a MB Dealer and have it checked out if your serious about the purchase, at that year you should still have MB warranty as well, unless it's over mileage, but I don't think it is

get the vin of the vehicle and take that to the MB Dealer as well, if you can't get the whole car there, they can check to see if it's up to date on service and what not

08+ ML are pretty reliable I think. If you're planning to keep the ml for a long time consider getting extended warranty. I think that is a good price considering the mileage.. Maintenance isn't cheap but it's not outrageous. Since it's private sale I'd take it to a mechanic to check for any bodywork and look at it's history.
