So I am looking for owners of a 350/320 bluetec diesel who have driven their diesels to hell and back and what kind of problems they have experienced? I am interested in purchasing the new 2012 ml350 bt but would like to see if any of the previous versions have made it past 200k worry free or if they will end up like my last merceded (01 e320) and always in the shop? I guess I am encouraging everyone to report all their major problems with their diesels so I can be more informed if I want to outright purchase this car or just lease it for a while. Please help a brotha out, looking to purchase soon.

Almost 4 yrs/170k on my current ML. I ordered this one and other than a few ''adjustments''(tailgate latch-5 mins) and a new drivers side mirror , it has been flawless. Just made 6000 mile round trip to Anchorage and it was great.
I gave my last ML to my sister when i got this one,and it still runs great.I was hoping they would put a diesel in the GLK this yr as I want some thing a bit smaller, but since they didnt, I guess I'll keep this one for another yr. and likely be well over 200k by the time I change vehicles again.
My understanding is that older diesels,in general, have proven themselves to be just about bulletproof if given proper care. But the newer ones...with all that emissions equipment and computer stuff...may well not be so lucky it seems. If that proves to be true it would probably be because of the aforementioned additions....the basic engine would probably remain solid.
