Voice Commands...........

I was checking through the manual and I don't see a list for commands....Is thier a list...I often try to switch from radio to my ipod, but have to manually push the media interface option....When I say media interface, it goes to my CD's....very frustrating ..............Any help would be appreciated...Thanks...

Ever since I have had vehicles with voice command I find that I rarely use it as I personally find it easier to push a button. About the only time I do use the VC is to dial a specific phone number. Have a great holiday!!

I haven't seen any list of commands either, and, like sosh, I don't often use them, but when I do I just say whichever word seems most likely: "radio", "memory card", "next", "phone", "dial", etc. Most of them work surprisingly well! Sometimes when it doesn't understand, it pops up a list of potential commands and I speak one of them.

Page 209/210 of my2010 Command manual

Page 209/210 of model year 2010 Command manual (NTG2.5). Good luck figuring them out - perhaps I'll have a refresher session today...

The manual lists "Audio Aux" as a command (I haven't tried it)

Here's a list of commands I actually use:

"Dial Name" -> "Please say the name" (and you say a name in your address book)

"Find Address" -> navigate to a name in your address book.

"Enter Destination" -> go through the routine of entering a full address to navigate to.

"Zoom in", "Zoom out" - zoom on map.

"Guidance instructions off/on" - turn off verbal guidance instructions but leave navigation target active.

"Cancel Navigation" - completely cancel your current target.

Music Register/hard disk:
"Next track"
"Next folder"

That's about all I remember and therefore use.

In Europe there is a seperate 'linguatronic' manual (our name for VCS) with the comands listed. I'd ask the MB dealer to look it up on their parts catalogue

My '08 is fitted with Linguatronic, and it came with a separate manual. I haven't bother to "train" it yet; like other posters have mentioned, pushing buttons works really well and doesn't require the hour or so to go through the voice recognition training exercise. If I can remember, I'll jot down the part number for the manual and post it. Maybe over Christmas, I'll also teach my Linguatronic to know my voice.
