Check Engine Light On (Codes 0440 2197)
My wife's ML550 recently had the check engine light come on.
Dealership diagnosed "Fault 0440 2197 - Left Pre-cat O2 Sensor"
Dealership wants $600 to fix it. Is this a typical repair cost for such problem?

I think the part is $300 and rest is labour. Not difficult to replaced but it could require STAR diagnostic to reset code (adaptation).
Check your local garage ...if you can get part cheap - try it there
