2006 ML-500 Coin Tray

Does anyone know where I can order a coin tray (AKA compartment box)? I'm having a heck of a time finding a vendor that has one of these.

I had a 2006 ML500 and do not recall it having or coming with any sort of coin tray or compartment tray

ML 500 does. It sits above the ashtray, and below the heat/AC controls.

I really do not consider that a coin tray. I had that in my 06 and have it in my 10. Believe the OP is looking for something that goes in the center consol. There really is no way to retrofit the small drawer economically as the entire center dash must be redone.

I've seen two separate diagrams where it is referenced as a "coin tray" or a "compartment box".

In any case, you don't need to remove the dash. You just have to pull out the fascia. Pull the ashtray first, remove 2 side-screws to take the ashtray compartment out. Then push the fascia UP and pull out. The coin tray has its own 2 side screws. It is a closed box, not like the ashtray.

See:

I just can't find a replacement part.

Do you have a cigarette lighter?

Look for a part number on the tray, #164 xxx xx xx, and post it.

Also take a photo of where this tray is located.
