New Tires - All Season
Okay, I will be honest I know nothing about tires...
I have a 2010 ML350 4Matic, and I desperately need a new set. I haven't been super happy with the Conti 4x4, need an all-season tire for the California weather (occasionally head to the snow). I have heard good things about the Continental ExtremeContact DWS and Michelin Latitude Tour HP.
Anyone have options on these? Or a recommendation of a better tire?

I have 2 sets: Michellin (all season - 19") and Pirelli (17'' - winter). As for Continental, I was about to purchase it until I read a few comments on above site.

2013 CTS-V, 2017 Audi Q7 / Past MB's: 2011 ML350 & 2012 ML350
I had the Michelin Latitude Tour HP’s on the 2011 ML. At approx 22k I had them inspected by a Michelin dealer because they seemed to be wearing prematurely. I was told they were wearing within the normal range and they had maybe 3-4K left on them even though they were rotated as recommended.
I have owned Michelin’s in the past on cars and SUV’s and I always got close to 40K out of them. I would have replaced them with the Conti Extremes if MB didn’t buy back the ML.
The 2012 ML came with the Conti LX20’s and they seem to be ok, but it is really too early for me to know how they will perform and hold up in the long run.

I have the Continental DWS on the wife's '08 ML350. Great tire. They do well in the varied Illinois weather. 100 degrees one month and -10 with 6" of snow a few months later. Have put about 15k miles on them without any issues.

I replaced the OEM tires at 17K due to total wear out. Put Conti ExtremeContact DWS tires on. Seems to be a very solid tire. It makes a huge difference in snow (vs. a worn out tire). Nothing bad so far. Very adequate, but not what I'd consider a game changer. Only have about 1500 miles on them so I can't speak to wear.

We just had Yokohama Parada Spec-X's put on both our vehicles.
They get GREAT reviews on TireRack.com! Cannot wait to see how they perform. But, anything has to be better than the Pirelli Scorpions and the cheap Falkens the previous owner put on my ML!

I put these on my wife's Infiniti FX35. Very nice tire. They don't make the exact size my car calls for, 265/45/20, but I can get close enough so I'm going to consider these along with Conti ExtremeContact DWS2 when I need tires in the next few months (actually, neither tire comes in exactly the corrrect size)

DWS's did not do it for me. Had to replace them after 15k. Currently have Goodyer Eagles and so far very pleased. Live in upstate NY and so far am plowing through snow and ice with no issues.

I picked up the Conti DWS Extreme Contact 2 months ago. I am very pleased with the ride, the performance on wet and snow. Much better that the OEM's on myu new to me ML350. Tirerack had the best price

2008 ML320cdi Irid.silver, 2013 VW Jetta Prem. Tdi Dsg red
I currently have Michelin Latitude Tour HP's non run flat. On my 08 320cdi. I will not buy them again. Hydroplane very easy in the rain and ride pretty rough for a regular all season tire. I've read good reviews on the following & will probably buy the one I can get shipped to my door the cheapest: Continental Crosscontact LX20 or Extreme Contact Dws, Pirelli Scorpion Verde a/s, or Toyo Versado CUV. For my needs they all have very good reviews, long tread life, & fair prices.

After being very disappointed with the 17,000 miles I got on the OEM Conti 4 x 4 Contacts, I chose the Yokohama AVID Envigors. The reviews were good on Tire Rack and I don't drive in snow.

2008 ML 320 CDI
Tread Wear Experience
I currently own an '08 ML320 CDI 4Matic. It came with Conti 4X4 Contacts which I got 27k mostly highway miles on. I then tried Michelin Latitude Runflat which I got again about 27K on mostly highway miles. My last set was Michelin Latitude Tour HP which I got 35K on. They are warranted for 55k, so I will get some help. After 70k on the MB, I am now ready for a 4th set of tires. The guy at discount tire said the ml series is pretty hard on tires regardless of driving habits. I am well over 60 so my sporting days are behind me as the diesel would suggest. Good luck and I am interested in mileage others are getting with the 4matic.

I have the Toyo Versado CUV tires (they came with mine). I am on m second summer with them. I think however they are getting a bit noisy, but they have great cornering traction. I do run dedicated snows, so I cannot attest to any snow performance. I put 24K miles on them last summer, and have put 6k on so far since removing the snows. I plan to get the rest of the summer and fall out of these, that should put it up in the 40-50K mile range. I only rotate once a year, when they go back on in the spring.
