active headlamps

Should you be able to see the headlamps turn with the steering wheel while the lights in the auto position and the car in park?

No, I'm afraid that is the non existent cornering light feature. I just doubled checked that in the manual. I'm asking, because I had an adaptive headlight inoperative message. It went to the dealership for almost 3 weeks. It got escalated all the way up and they finally fixed it. I was in my driveway the other night with lights shining on the door in park and lights in auto. I turned the wheel left and right but the lights did not move. I'm wondering if the dealership just removed the error message but didn't actually fix the adaptive lights hoping I wouldn't notice.

Cornering lights (fog lights) are activated by turning wheel with when fog lights are not on, but lights are in auto, parking, or ON position (vehicle standing or moving) and the foglight will illuminate to assist with cornering. Active Bi-Xenon lights only move slightly and only when vehicle is in motion, I believe at 25 MPH or higher. I have them and that is how they are suppose to operate.

This is right out of the manual

iVehicles equipped with active Bi-Xenon*
headlamps:
The active Bi-Xenon* headlamps monitor the
vehicles steering angle and vehicle speed, then
automatically shift their beams to either side to
better follow the curvature of the road ahead,
increasing usable illumination over conventional
headlamps

Hmm, seems silly that the bi xenons would only move at speeds above 25mph. You would think that you would enter a turn slower than that especially from a standing position and it would be beneficial if the lights moved at the still or slower speeds.

It might be less than 25, but I think the purpose is to light curves in the road, more than tight turns. The fog lights do a better job at lighting up for tight turns.

It shows as turning even when standing still in the COMAND screen. But visually I could not make a damned difference.

How do you view something like this in the command screen?
