2008 ML320CDI What will it cost?

I purchaced a 2008 ML320CDI from the orginal owner at 40,000 miles. All schedueled maintenance has been completed. The steering rack was changed due to leakage, the driver’s door latch was changed, and the glow plug timer was changed. I planed to keep this truck for many years. It currently has 95,000 miles on it and is a pleasure to drive.
Here is my delemma. I have been reading the problems in this forum and the huge cost for repairs. The negative comments about dealerships and the bewiderment that this is a “Mercedes” why is this happening?
Here is the question. Is this going to be a solid, reliable vehicile for the next ten years or will it cost me thousands of dollar in unexpected repairs?

I bought my 08 ML320cdi about 6 months ago with 75k. All maintenance was up to date & in exceptional shape. So far I had to replace the glow plug control module ($440 at dealer) and now it had a power steering fluid leak I have to get checked. I also think it has a very slight oil leak somewhere. The transmission was shifting hard from 3-2 & 2-1. They reset the adaptations (warranty would not cover, said adjustment). I bought a 1yr extended warranty through Usaa. Glad I did. I'm trying to fix all issues before it expires.

I really like the suv & like you plan to keep it several years. I've been doing all the minor maintenance myself. I expect it to last & drive we'll for years, but hope small expensive issues don't keep popping up. I like to take long road trips a couple times a year. I don't want breakdowns.
