2010 ML350 AWD Towing
I had a brand new Nissan Titan (RWD) on a boat ramp a few months back. Put the truck in park and the emergency brake on. When I went to get my boat the car slid into the water. There was no load on the truck...just parked on slime. The lesson? Trucks are RWD and so are emergency brakes. If your rear wheels slip it's all over!
So AWD was a big factor in purchasing my ML350. So here's the question: If you put an AWD vehicle in park (turned off) do all the wheels lock?

It would be nice if it did but I don't expect so. 4MOTION is implemented with free differentials not locking/limited slip. The limited slip function is performed by independently braking the spinning wheel.

Park keeps the transmission from turning, and therefor for one axle to turn the other has to turn in the opposite direction.
With the parking brake set the back wheels (and hence the back axle) will not turn therefor the front axle will not turn. (if one wheel turns the other has to turn the other way.
In general with the transmission in park and the parking break on three wheels need to loose almost all traction to slide/
