Can 2010 ML550 uses 18" wheels?

Trying to get some winter tire package for my dad, he just got a ML550, however it came with AMG insanely large 20" wheels. Tires that size is just cost quite a lot for nothing... especially when is just for winter...

So I told him that he could just use 245/60R18 on 5x112 18" wheels with +~50 offset. Could anyone confirm whether that is a viable size for the ML550?

sure, that's an equivalent tire size. Can't comment on the wheel offset though.

Anyone know what is the stock offset for OEM rims?
I checked some online website for compatible rims, and they are mostly 45-55 offsets.
