was recently quoted 950 from mb dealer which I think is freaking nuts
should I just go to indy or bite the bullet
if I take it to indy will it void my warranty for work done out not from mb dealer

My dealer in Atl. only charged about $400. Are u talking $950 US $? If so, that's crazy, call another dealer. Or find a reputable indy.

Why do you need a tranny flush?

If this for the scheduled 40,000 mile service, a flush is not required - only change filter and fluid in the pan. The dealership price in Reading PA was about 395.00 + tax with the majority of the cost being the fluid.

A tranny flush is more expensive since more fluid is used to purge all fluid from the system. Be careful, sometimes the trans "flush" does not include filter replacement even though it is more expensive & you really do want a new trans filter @ the 40,000 mile service.
