Well, the actual latching mechanism went bad on my 09 with 70k on it. The read door still opened and closed but it simply wouldnt latch. Here's the kicker; there's no way to manually latch the door shut, what a $%#$%. I had to drive around with freaking duct tape on my car to keep the door kind of shut for a few days. Can you imagine????

Anyhow, got it repaired from an indy i've befriened for $400.00.

I see I guess I'm not the only one using duct tape so you replaced or repaired it

 

Yeah, the duct tape was really ticking me off.

I replace the latching motor. Did not try to repaire it.
