White smoke is usually an indication of DPF regeneration in progress. It could be normal but my 2009 is undetectable unlike my former 2008 Ford Powerstroke.
You don't say how many miles driven. The Powerstroke did a DPF burnout every 250 miles. More often in city travel, or when pulling 7000 pounds. It really needs 10 minutes at constraint highway speeds to do the job thoroughly. Can't say for the W164 because after 20,000 miles I still have no idea when a DPF regeneration is occurring.
