How to remove parking brake pedal cover?

So I got these slip on pedals. The gas pedal and brake pedal went on easy and they look really good.

But the 3rd which is the parking brake wont slip on. The pedal cover has to be removed but I've tried and there is no way I can get it off.

Does anyone know how I can get the rubber/plastic piece off?

Thanks.

If it is the original brake pedal pad it should peel off with no problem.
Since it does not come off the way it should, it might be either an aftermarket part that is attached in a different way and/or glued on by the previous owner .
Brute force might be the answer here.

Thanks for the input beerj.

But I don't think it's aftermarket. See pic.

I want to get that off to install slip on metal pedals.

Still no dice. It won't come off.

I think I'll have to slice it off with a knife
