W164 ML350 Engine Mounts replacement

Hello guys,

Is there anyone who has already replaced engine mounts?
According to WIS the starter and complete exhaust system needs to be removed to replace engine mount.
It is some different way how to replace mounts or is really necessary to remove complete exhaust system?

4matic makes it a pain to access the front mounts.

The rear section of the exhaust drops fairly easily, other than being a bit too large and heavy for one person to manage alone. The catalytic pipes have to come out to have space to remove the mounts anyway.

On a 4matic e-class it says the same thing, i've seen guys pull the alternator and a/c compressor and come out the front/top with the mounts, but it's hardly what I would consider a quicker or easier way to go.
