Changing rear washer nozzle '08 ML350
This popped out of the external nozzle and would not stay in place.
Hi.
The supply hose to my rear washer popped out of the assembly and was spraying water between the rear hatch panel. I checked through the forums and nobody had ever experienced this before so I thought I would document this for other readers.
First, do not disassemble the rear door panel (as I did). The solution to changing out the nozzle is fast and quick. You will need a small, flat screwdriver (or a flat, putty scraper) and something to cover the paint finish adjacent to the nozzle.
As you can see from the photo, the water nozzle, attached to the supply tube, is a 2 piece part with the external sprayer nozzle. I tried to clip it back but it would not stay attached.
1. Place something to cover the paint finish on the right side of the exterior nozzle.
2. Gently insert the flat screwdriver (or putty scraper) against the right side of the nozzle to release the tension clip.
3. Slowly lift out the nozzle and hose (if still attached) and replace it. If the hose has come off, you can probably fish it out with a bent, coat hanger or a grabbing device.
Good luck.

This was the only one that helped fix my problem. Thank you!

**** Cut off the nozzle where it joins the black hose. It's difficult to pull it off so just cut it off: the hose gets old and won't make a good seal with the new nozzle barb. ***
