Changing rear washer nozzle '08 ML350
This popped out of the external nozzle and would not stay in place.
This is the complete washer nozzle. You will have to remove/cut off the part attached to the hose because it's hard to remove (there's enough slack in the hose if you choose to cut it off instead).
Hi.
The supply hose to my rear washer popped out of the assembly and was spraying water between the rear hatch panel. I checked through the forums and nobody had ever experienced this before so I thought I would document this for other readers.
First, do not disassemble the rear door panel (as I did). The solution to changing out the nozzle is fast and quick. You will need a small, flat screwdriver (or a flat, putty scraper) and something to cover the paint finish adjacent to the nozzle.
As you can see from the photo, the water nozzle, attached to the supply tube, is a 2 piece part with the external sprayer nozzle. I tried to clip it back but it would not stay attached.
1. Place something to cover the paint finish on the right side of the exterior nozzle.
2. Gently insert the flat screwdriver (or putty scraper) against the right side of the nozzle to release the tension clip.
3. Slowly lift out the nozzle and hose (if still attached) and replace it. If the hose has come off, you can probably fish it out with a bent, coat hanger or a grabbing device.
Good luck.

Changing rear washer nozzle
Thank you for your post. That's exactly what happened to my 2010 ML350. I searched the web and after an hour before finally I found your post.
This was the only one that helped fix my problem. Thank you!

It's part of the plastic nozzle.
If you look at Photo #4, it's the part of nozzle to the exterior part. Don't worry about it because the new part includes everything. You will just have to remove all the parts (you might have to cut it off where it meets the hose) and attach the new part to the hose.

OK - I get it. Apparently, the nozzle on my ML had been replaced an someone had patched an additional piece of tbubing to it... I'll remove that and all should be good. Thanks for your help!

Yes. Remove everything up to where it meets the hose. The new part will fit into the hose (push it on firmly) then install into the nozzle cut out. The best way to install it is to push it in with the clip side pushed in last. I hope all of this helps. It's been a few years since I installed the sprayer nozzle and it still works perfectly.

Yeah. The plastic gets old, especially on a 2008 ML350 like mine, so I expect to replace things as long as the engine is maintained with oil changes.

**** Cut off the nozzle where it joins the black hose. It's difficult to pull it off so just cut it off: the hose gets old and won't make a good seal with the new nozzle barb. ***
