Heavy Steering

Hi all,

This is my first post

Car: ML 320 W164 2006 50k Miles

Issue: Heavy steering

The steering in my ML suddenly became heavy and through a number of visits to my local indy and dealership i have changed a number of parts including the steering rack, steering pressure sensor, steering angle sensor, steering pump, belts, oil reservoir.

The last part changed was the steering angle sensor which came up in the mercedes diagnostic report but i understand that a star machine is required on the 2006 model in order to configure. I am awaiting the main dealer to get back to me to advise on the config required.

the tyres are correctly pressurised and all the same as well as the correct power steering fluid type and level

any thoughts or advise would be appreciated.

Is there noise when turning the steering wheel?

Was the P/S reservoir changed along with the P/S pump?

When the Steering Rack was changed did the Y10 valve come with the rack or did you have to transfer the valve from the old rack to the new?

Do you know if the system was properly bled?

Who replaced all these parts?
