Blind Spot Assist Inoperable-2012 ML350 Bluetec

Hi, My blind spot Assist stopped working. It seems that the two modules are locat3 in the rear bumper. I understand that they had a defect in that they were not sealed properly therefore allowing water to seep into the electronics. To replace the 2 modules at the dealer is about $3000cdn. I was wonder8ng whether anyone knows where I could purchase these blind assist modules at a reasonable price so that I can install them myself. Does anyone also know where I can obtain a repair manual specifically for this 2012 ML350 bluetec? I am especially interested in finding out how to remove the bumper as well. There are no YouTube videos for this year.
thanks, Keman58

Here we go again with another very complicated option and the driver is looking for free advice------wake up that advice is not available because you need very good diagnostics to assist in determining the fault------spend some money on a short test that will tell you the fault then you can spend the next week trying to fix the problem!!

Perhaps you should learn how to read. I am simply asking where I can purchase the modules and the repair manual. I know exactly what’s wrong with them. The modules have to be replaced as they are defective.

The sensors are both part number 000 905 02 10 and after install you will need the MB factory diagnostic tool XDOS to flash both modules.

Hi, I just started to get same message last week on 2012 350 Gas (W166 it seems that yours is W164) it seems that in salty conditions they might last 6/7 years because of lame design. What is interesting, when I disable/enable Blind Spot feature, it's stops showing this message, but when I drive on highway in the middle lane only left (drivers side) indicator on mirror goes red when car is blind spot. Right side does not work when car is on the right side blind spot, and probably in about 15-20 min blind spot warning pops again. I was researching on OEM part site like https://www.genuinemercedesparts.com, part 000-905-02-10 (Positions: Right, Left) and assume that based on my observation right (passenger side) stopped working for me. For now I disabled that feature and will check on it when weather will be nice.

Swiveling your head on your neck is a lot safer than trusting technology to make that decision for you.

That's cute. Never been to Europe, have you? I've lived on both sides (former Marine who will not pay a dime of taxes to the Trumpbecile administration and enjoys a much better quality of life in Germany). Trust me when I tell you haven't got a clue. Stay in the puddle, buddy.

BTW, that self-driving technology? The Europeans are far ahead of the US on that too.

I sure did, almost half of my life, and visiting EU every years as company I work for has offices almost in every country in EU. I would defiantly agree that 6 weeks vacations is better than 3 . Hope to jump in self-driving one, but I think laws are still pretty behind on that in EU.

And having something to let you know in a split second emergency if you're clear to swerve out of the way of something without killing someone is even safer.
