Water in engine
Hi guys, I recently got water sucked into my engine through the intake. Drove through the water too fast, car stalled. Water remained in the intake and cylinders for about 2 days at which point there was no water in the oil. I check several times. i assumed my engine was still good, took off the intake, used sucked out all the water from the cylinders with a pump, crank the engine maybe halfway and finally there was water in the oil. Drained everything out, left it for two hot day to dry, rebuilt the manifold, poured new fluids to discover the engine cranks 90% and then stop. I did it by hand in both directions. I'm not sure if I have a bent cylinder valve or piston rod. I believe if it was just a valve the car would still start. Anyway, I found a 2008 E350 engine with 57K for a great price. Can I put this into 08 ML350, most of what I've read says its the same engine. Thank you for the feedback.

The engine should be the same, you may have to transfer your oil pan from the ML, I don't know if they are the same. But the parts you need (likely a bent rod from the water ingestion), will be the same on both engines. Swap your pan and whatever is different over to the new engine and you should be good to go.
