How do you remove get the propshafts separated from the w164 transfer case
I am removing the transfer case from an cdi ML from 2009 and have removed all the propshaft torx bolts and the shafts just do not move. How do you separate the shafts from the transfer case to get the case off the car?

So it seems they just needed a bit better encouragement with a good chisel! 
And they popped right out. As with so many others, the chain has stretched, and problably the slack has broken the chain guide/tensioner mount post...
