Weird noise whining on morning start ups.
I have a 2009 ML-350 4-Matic that had done 102.000km and for a week now I have been hearing a weird whining noise when I start the car in the morning when the engine is still cold.
The noise goes on for roughly 90 seconds and then goes away.
Is this the belt acting up on me? Even though I just changed it about 5 months ago? Or is it just the morning coldness's fault?
I'll provide a voice recording as soon as I can.
Thank you in advance.
If the noise is not present, then it could be the belt, or either of the idler pulleys or the tension pulley. Manually spin those pulleys by hand and they should have drag to them. If they spin fast, then they must be replaced.
