Uneven new rotors ML350?

I have 2015 ML350 4matic. After a crazy quote I got from the dealership, I decided for the 1st time to install my 4 rotors and pads at an independent shop. He installed Textar pads and Zimmerman coated rotors. Dealer quote me $1800, I did it with independent shop with $800. $1000 less!

I drove my SUV for 10/20 miles and I feel no problem at all. but when I look at the rear rotors, I see the coat start to warn unevenly leaving a large edge. is that normal? check the image

Did your indy do the correct rear parking brake procedure to retract the caliper piston? Pls post in w166 forum for extra help.

Zimmerman rotors have a special coating to prevent rust from forming on the non contact area of the brake pads.

Rear brake pads are always smaller than the front pads, hence less wear area. There is no problem whatsoever.
