Does engine om642 diesel has Vanos ? and what is venus
My car ML350 bluetec , it start makes noise these days , some of mechanics says it's timing chain and others says vanos
Can any one explain to me what is vanos

OM642 engines do have variable camshaft adjustment/timing...... as does the M272, M273, M278, M276, M156, M157 and so on. So, it's not called Vanos, but it's there.
