Adjust Xenon Headlights on W164

Hello,

Is there any way to adjust the xenon headlights on thr US 2007 ML350? I know that they are self adjustable and I can actually see that they are performing the initial "calibration" every time that I start the car. However I do feel that they dont point high enough and I wonder whether I can adjust them to point slightly higher.

No not really. Might be time to get new bulbs.

It’s German law that cars fitted with hid lighting must also be fitted with automatic headlight self leveling.

It’s also required they have headlight washing ... a quick way to observe whether a particular car has hid.

Yes there is a manual adjustment w/o the aimer. Must do it at night on a level ground facing a flat wall and mimic the requirements.

Great thank you. I will replace the bulbs because they are old and then if the problem is not solved I will consider the adjustment.

I followed the guide provided in another thread and I replaced the bulbs. However I cant place the igniter in the proper position. The bulb is at the correct place and both the metallic grips are locked. However when I put the igniter in place its "legs" enter the "four holes" but I can't twist it clockwise.

This happens on both the left and right bulbs. Any suggestions?
