Engine Oil Change Frequency

Re: 2008 ML350 (90,000 Miles), & 2006 ML500 (125,000 Miles)-
Is there any merit in changing oil/filter before due date for Service A. Service A automatically resets to 20,000 Km (about 12,500 miles) after each oil change. But because of the old age of the engines I thought maybe I should change it earlier.
Any guidance will be appreciated.

Change frequency is dependent on your driving conditions (highway vs stop & go city, etc.). On my diesel with it's emission control set up I change oil and filter every 5,000 miles. This was on the advice of a former MB Master Tech working at my Indy, who also had a 2008 ML 320 CDI, after he replaced both intake manifolds on mine which were heavily gunked up. Prior to that I was following the MB designated change frequency. No like issues in 50K miles.

Again, a lot of factors go into engine oil life. The best way to determine the condition of your oil is to have it tested. There are independent testing laboratories that can provide this service for a nominal charge. Here are a few:
