2011 ML350 w AVIN unit Clock Reset

I have one of the AVIN GL 9" - 8.0 Oreo 4GB RAM Navigation System aftermarket display units installed and have had no problem with the small Mercedes clock in the left instrument cluster. I had some work done at the local Fletcher Mercedes dealership and the clock is now not correct. They say they didn't disconnect the battery. And they say they need the old Command Unit to set the clock. They also say they attempted to reset the clock using the steering wheel buttons, but no luck. I know there are clock settings in the AVIN unit, but I think that is only for the time in the display unit.

Anyone had this issue and can offer help?

You disconnect the battery at noon and re attach. then reprogram your memories and such. Thats the only way.

Actual noon or when the clock reads noon? Just disconnect and reconnect? Sorry, this doesn’t make sense to me. Maybe I need more coffee this morning.

when you pull the battery lead and reconnect the dash clock will reset to 12:00 (there is no am/pm there), along with clearing your memory. youll want to do this at noon, since thats what the clock resets to....

Cool! That seems simple enough. Other than getting to the battery under the seat. Thanks for the quick fix.

I need to do this as well, I wonder if there is a fuse that can be pulled rather than disconnecting the battery?

I suppose you could try pulling the instrument cluster fuse, #11 in the box behind the passenger dash cover here

I use the fuse pulling method in my 2007 ML350. It works. The clock may take half a minute to go through the reset, so replugging the fuse at 11:59 and 30 seconds is good if you don't want the clock to be a minute slow.

Tried getting that small panel off without tools. Whoa! Tight little sucker. Where is the best place to start? Left - right - bottom - top?

I open the glove box door first. This will let you see where the edge of the side panel fuse cover intersects with the side of the glove box plastic. I can push on that edge with my thumb and push the edge of the fuse box cover outward. There is one clip in that area which in my car will them un-clip an let you open the whole cover panel. With the glove box closed you cannot see this edge and there does not seem to be any better point to try to pry it off..

Thank you. I finally shined a light in there and found the depression in the black material behind the edge of fuze cover. Just the right size to allow me to get my finger behind the cover and pull it off.
