Command No Power

I'm trying to sort out an issue with my command unit. For a while now the command unit stopped working. Checked all the fuses and removed the command unit from the dashboard. Everything looked fine. Recently the battery went flat and it was time to have it replaced. Tried to get the car moving so I connected some jumper cables to the terminals in the engine compartment. Lo and behold the command unit sprung to life. Had both main and auxiliary batteries replaced and now the command unit is not working again. Any ideas?

So why don't you put the jumper cables on again?

I had both batteries replaced. I'm reluctant to put on the jumper cables on again as I would only use them as a last resort for emergencies i.e. flat battery and needing to jump-start the vehicle
